All SPEEDHUBs directly from the Rohloff factory come with a splined sprocket system. This lets you easily swap sprockets without tools. Every SPEEDHUB ever made can be upgraded to use this new splined system instead of the old threaded ones. Rohloff's splined sprockets, available in 13 - 19 & 21 tooth sizes, are reversible and use a 57mm chainline. If your hub lacks a Splined Carrier Adaptor, it's required for these sprockets. These splined sprockets are a hit among bike mechanics and riders who need to change sprockets on the go. New SPEEDHUBs have them, and older models can be retrofitted.
